Milk Oceans
Rivers / Lakes
Jungles
Forests/Woodlands
Marshlands are an incredibly tricky terrain to traverse, unless a route has already been set and shored up beforehand. The mud here is wet and sticks to everything. A traveler will get a little dirty moving through here.
Known marshlands: Frog Swamp and The Marshland belt. Denizens: Frogs
Flora:
Reed Tanglers - Tall muted green vine-like reeds which catch at the legs of marsh dwellers.
Pale Rushes - Tall cream grasses which splay out at the top like flowers.
Floof Tales - Large plants with thick stems. They grow in the center of swamps in clusters and have a seed head resembling a gray fox tail.
Fauna:
Mud Jumpers - Small brown beetles with frog-like legs who jump on the marsh waters surface: bottom of the food chain.
Newties - Cute green and red newts live among the reeds and venture to the waters to feed on Mud Jumpers: middle of the food chain.
Marsh Eel - Long gray/green eels, slither along the bottom of the marshes only surfacing for food: middle of the food chain.
Reed Warbler - Tall crane-like birds who walk through the shallows looking for food, can be aggressive when nesting: top of the food chain.
Rolling Plains are relatively safe areas during the day. They offer good vantage points and plenty of small bits of vegetation. Farmland is almost always created on plains. Rolling plains are ideal for picnics. Known rolling plains: Purring Valley, the route from Jade Town to Calcite City. Denizens: TBA
Mountains are particularly hard terrain to travel through; they take a lot longer than plains, jungle or desert. Some mountains are impossible to traverse and require moving through their maze of tunnels underneath them. It can be easy to get lost! Known mountain ranges: Marshmallow Mountains, the Eastern Cliffs, Knot-trail Mountains. Denizens: TBA
Even though deserts are not as difficult to traverse as mountains or ocean, they are one of the harshest environments to live in (except for lizards who love deserts!). All of the known deserts lead into coastal beaches, creating fantastic places of relaxation if the waterβs edge is easily accessible. A fair few Adventurers have set off to the Great Desert looking for treasure, never to return. Known deserts: Clumping Desert, Dunes of Relaxation and Great Desert. Denizens: Lizards
The oceans are home to a huge array of creatures. In fact there are rumors of a race of humanoid fish who have crafted floating towns out on the oceans and have taken control of small islands around the outside of Cooltopia and the Wandering Territory. One of the most well known of these creatures is Captain Tepnu! Be warned, these creatures look after themselves first and foremost and may help if there is something in it for them. Known Oceans: Western Ocean, Eastern Ocean, Sea of Opportunity Denizens: Fishfolk, Fish, Catmaids
Warm oceans are very similar to the oceans of the world, except that they are, well, warm. This attracts different types of aquatic animals, along with deterring the more dangerous sea life except for one deadly foe who actually prefers Warm oceans, The Kritten! Known Warm Oceans: Diamond City Port and Kritten Bay Denizens: The Kritten
Milk oceans are incredibly important for Cool Cats and Cool Pets. It contains the only source of lactose free milk in the whole world. This Milk is what Cool Cats and Cool Pets drink. It is so important that they have set up several facilities to acquire and filter the Milk correctly. Also they have used Milk for many decades to trade for goods and services. Recently, Cool Cats and Cool Pets have started using coins and notes instead of the traditional cartons and bags. Known Milk Oceans: Milk Sea, Inlet of No Return Denizens: TBA
The rivers and lakes of the world all originate from mountains. They wind and curve their way through the path of least resistance. There are plenty of creatures that prefer living in lakes and rivers, including frogs. Known Rivers/Lakes: Lake Everdeep and Belonging Basin. Denizens: Frogs
Jungles are an annoying and exhausting terrain to pass through, but it is possible to navigate them. They are also rich with resources, including but not limited to, flowers, rare liquids, gems and herbs. Jungles are also home to some of the scariest and meanest creatures in the world (except maybe those creatures that favor tunnels/caves). Known Jungles: Calcite Jungle, Howling Weald, Plagae Hills. Denizens: TBA
Forests and woodlands are magical, relaxing places. Just be careful becoming too relaxed as it is easy to get lost in the surrounding trees. Cool Cats need plenty of wood to build their towns and cities, along with stone and metal. Cool Cats should be careful not to take more than they need, but that may not be true for other humanoids that live in Cooltopia. Known Forests/Woodlands: Wild Coast, Flower Forest, Boundless Blossom. Denizens: TBA
