Travel and Trade Routes

In Cooltopia it is possible to travel almost anywhere, but it requires knowing how to get there and understanding what possible challenges may await. It might not always be a wise decision to travel to dangerous places. Sometimes certain places may be temporarily blocked until work is completed to unlock them. Ways to Travel; Walking: Walk from one place to another, but walking may take a very long time to get to another location. Walking is best suited when traveling from a current location to another single connected location or to explore the surroundings. Mounted Vehicle: This could take the form of a horse or even a crafted machine from one of the Ferretfolk. Either way, a mounted vehicle is a good way to travel longer distances. It is possible to travel from one end of Cooltopia to the other on a mounted vehicle. Note that this wonβt always be the most efficient way to travel.
A favorite form of travel for merchants is to use Giant Snails that live in Cooltopia. These snails are slow but incredibly hardy, they can travel for miles without needing to rest and underkin show little to no threat to them. Perfect for delivering goods to neighbouring towns and cities! Boat: If a boat is available, this is one of the most efficient ways to travel. A boat will take a traveller straight across the sea to a different location. A good example is traveling by boat from Sapphire Town to Diamond City. It is a lot faster to travel between these two areas by sea. Linked Fractures: Over time, Linked Fractures may appear on the map, allowing jumps from one area to another. This is similar to instant teleportation and is the most efficient and quickest way to travel. Fractures have only been known to link locations or other dimensions but not allow time travel.
Trade routes in Cooltopia are primarily by land, but there are some trade routes via sea as well, they just donβt operate as frequently. Land Trade Routes All of the brown dashed lines on the map are trade routes, except for the route from the Masked Village to Lapis Village. These dashed lines represent well established roads/paths and they allow carts, wagons and caravans easy ways to get from one place to another. This does not mean that they always successfully reach their destination, sometimes travellers will require help from heroes to arrive safely. Sea Trade Routes The three main trade docks are Diamond City, Sapphire Town and Jade Town. These main trade docks allow goods to be transported in huge quantities, making them more efficient than using carts, but are not as quick. It takes time to equip a ship, man it with a crew and then finally sail it across the ocean.
These three sea trade routes are also used as ways to travel.
