Family Groups

Family groups play a huge role in Cooltopia. Generally speaking, babies and children live with their parents and their elders. The parents will return to work, usually with one of the Orders, and the little ones will spend most of their time with the elders. This is not always the case, but is very common.

ELDERS

Elders are highly respected. They make decisions for the place they live, along with decisions for the babies and children they look after.

RESPECTED FAMILIES

Well-respected families hold a lot of power within the local communities. They can help influence the Council in Diamond City, but that is not a common occurrence. Well-respected families usually send their young off to survival school or to some other education outside the village, town or city, especially if their young have been causing trouble.

FAMILY HONOR

Family honor is important. Families always take care of their own first; their honor will always reside with them and their children. This can sometimes cause issues within the local community, but a well-respected family elder can dissuade any punishment for children who have committed crimes. This is not always a good thing, but it is the way it is.

JOINTLY RUN

Families are jointly run by both parents. They both usually earn a living to support the young and old of the family.

NON MARITAL / HOUSING CELEBRATION

Unlike our world, denizens of Cooltopia don’t have official marriages or anything written into law since there are no genders or traditional household roles . Rather, there are usually Housing Celebrations or parties after a few years of spending time together and purchasing a first dwelling to live together.
