Very few wars have taken place in recent history, but there have been minor battles between the peaceful folk of Cooltopia and the Underkin. Rarely have the Calamites waged war on the Cooltopians, but if they do, it’s always been attached to the Underkin.
This war happened centuries and centuries ago. The only information available is in the books of the Royal Library in Diamond City and these have been rewritten many times over. It’s likely to be mostly fiction at this point and very few believe it actually happened as portrayed.
A lot of the items that were left over from this war are left strewn all across Cooltopia. This is the one time that the Calamites effectively waged war across the whole of the eastern continent. Taking control of beasts, Underkin and anything they could attach to, it was a harsh time for the peaceful folk.
Those who did not fight retreated to the Fort of 9001 Meows. This was a bastion of hope that offered protection for who were vulnerable.The Fort was well fortified and it needed to be to withstand the attacks it was faced with. No one really knows how the war ended or even why / how it began in the first place.
This was a huge battle that raged on for years and years. The Royal Guard were made aware in time to react and were sent from Diamond City to help defend Jasper City. Jasper City had good defenses and a sizable Guard to defend themselves, but it wouldn’t have been enough. The Underkin brought with them some very large humanoids that started to crush the walls of Jasper City. The damage can still be seen to this day. Luckily, the Guard managed to defeat the enemy and close off the entrance to the Eastern Cliffs and the Wild Coast.
There are a handful of current Jasper City residents who still remember this war.
This is the most recent war. It took place just outside Obsidian Town. Swarms of Underkin raided and almost overran the town. The town had to activate the Royal Guard who were unable to make it in time from Diamond City, so the town requested help from the Frogs of Frog Swamp. The Frogs took up arms against the Underkin and, combined with the Local Guard of Obsidian town, managed to thwart back the advancing enemy into the Eastern Cliffs.
A lot of Cooltopians remember the Underkin Raid and fear they may return. This leaves many feeling slightly on edge when outside the walls of a settled village, town or city.
